The store sells products to businesses and to private individuals of legal age. All product prices include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices and delivery costs.

Ordering

Once you have placed your order and accepted the order and delivery terms, you will receive a binding order confirmation to the email address you provided. Hiomakivi.fi reserves the right to change prices and order and delivery terms on a per-order basis. The customer is responsible for the use of their account and password and for keeping them secure. The customer commits to providing accurate information when placing an order.

Ordering by email or phone

Products can also be ordered by email or phone. When using these ordering methods, an invoice will be sent to your email after the order is placed, and the products will be delivered upon payment of the invoice. You may also choose in-store pickup as the delivery method and pay by card at the time of collection.

Payment Methods

Payment is made at the online store checkout. After clicking the Send Order button, you will be redirected to the payment provider of your choice. Available payment methods are listed at: Delivery costs

Any applicable payment surcharge, depending on the payment method selected, will be added to the order total. Any surcharge will be displayed at checkout.

All payment connections in the hiomakivi.fi online store are secured with SSL encryption. All card payments are verified, and if verification fails, hiomakivi.fi reserves the right to reject the order. Hiomakivi.fi does not store card details in its own systems — they are processed and stored securely by the payment service provider. Online banking payments require the credentials issued by your bank.

Prices

The price of a product is the price displayed in the online store at the time of ordering. Costs are shown in the shopping cart. The delivery cost to your selected country is shown at checkout.

If products are delivered outside the EU, the customer is responsible for any customs, import, or other fees. Customs practices vary by country — please contact your local customs office for more information. If customs clearance is required, the customer is responsible for all related costs and understands that customs processing may cause delays beyond the original estimated delivery time.

Hiomakivi.fi reserves the right to cancel an order in cases of obvious pricing errors. An obvious pricing error means a situation where the displayed price deviates significantly and clearly from the correct price. Examples include:

  • a product listed at €0.00 or with no price at all
  • a product worth several hundred euros listed at e.g. €39.90 (decimal point error)

In these cases the pricing error is so evident that the customer is considered to understand the mistake.

Delivery Times

Hiomakivi.fi processes incoming orders as a rule within one business day. Our goal is to dispatch all orders received by 15:00 on weekdays on the same day.

Customers may also choose in-store pickup from the hiomakivi.fi warehouse in Espoo. For pickup orders, customers will receive an email confirmation when the order is ready for collection. Pickup orders are generally ready within one business day of ordering. Any exceptions to delivery schedules are announced separately on the hiomakivi.fi website.

Within Finland, delivery via Posti or Matkahuolto typically takes 1–2 business days. Please note that we are generally closed on Fridays during summer. International delivery takes 2–5 business days. When hiomakivi.fi ships an order, the customer will receive a tracking code by email and to the phone number provided at checkout. Orders can be tracked at www.posti.fi and www.matkahuolto.fi.

Hiomakivi.fi reserves the right to refuse an order if necessary. In such cases, any payment will be refunded within 14 days.

Warranty and Defective Products

We comply with the EU Consumer Sales Directive (2019/771). Goods must conform to the agreement and meet general requirements. The seller's liability for defects is valid for two (2) years from delivery.

If a defect appears within two years of purchase, it is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery during the first year. This does not apply to defects caused by careless use, neglect, or normal wear and tear. Defective products must be reported to us within a reasonable time of discovering the defect: info@hiomakivi.fi.

Right of Withdrawal

We comply with general regulations: products carry a standard 14-day exchange and return right, provided the product is undamaged and in a condition equivalent to new. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must notify us of your decision to cancel the contract in an unambiguous manner (for example, by email to info@hiomakivi.fi). It is sufficient to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you cancel this contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs arising from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery option we offer), without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date we receive the returned products. We will process the refund using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods back before the 14-day period expires. The customer bears the cost of return shipping.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Unclaimed Packages

Leaving a package unclaimed is not the same as a return or cancellation. For unclaimed packages where no separate cancellation notice has been submitted, we charge a fee of €14. This amount will be deducted from the refunded total. The fee reflects the actual costs of return shipping and handling for unclaimed shipments.

Changes to Terms

Hiomakivi.fi reserves the right to change the online store, its policies, and its order and delivery terms at any time. Updated terms apply only to orders placed after the change takes effect.

Force Majeure

Hiomakivi.fi is not liable for delays or damages caused by an obstacle beyond its control that it could not reasonably have anticipated or whose consequences it cannot avoid. Such force majeure events include, for example: a product becoming unavailable from the supplier or manufacturer, disruptions in transport, subcontractors, equipment, software or internet connections, fires, labour disputes, wars, natural disasters, or governmental interventions.

Liability

Hiomakivi.fi is not liable for indirect damages unless they result from intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms have been drawn up in accordance with Finnish law. Disputes between the seller and buyer relating to the contract shall, if they cannot be resolved through negotiation between the parties, be resolved in the district court of the seller's domicile.

If a dispute concerning a purchase contract cannot be resolved through negotiation, the consumer may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board. Before bringing a matter to the Consumer Disputes Board, the consumer should contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) consumer advisory service: www.kkv.fi/kuluttajaneuvonta.
