It's the first Japenese cutting board I've ever owned, my previous one was a teak chopping board that I have had a very good experience with. However, the feel and feedback this chopping board gives you (not to mention grip) is unparalleled. It's a true pleasure to use it. My only gripe is that fat seems to seep in and is very hard to remove afterwards - this might be more than a user error.

The Parker ASAHI 600x330x20 cutting board is hands down the best non-wooden cutting board I’ve ever used. Its generous size makes it ideal for intense meal prep, providing ample space for daily use. Whether you’re chopping vegetables, preparing fish, or working through more complex recipes, this board can handle it all with ease. Like most boards, I’d recommend using a slim anti-slip rubber mat underneath for added stability. Cleaning takes a bit more time due to its size, but it’s no more cumbersome than a standard wooden board. What truly sets this cutting board apart is its unique feel—it strikes a perfect balance between a rubber board and a wooden one. It’s easy on your knife edges, much like rubber boards, but offers the tactile experience and almost the sound of wood. It doesn’t stain much, though some traces may appear depending on the type of food you’re prepping. For those working mostly with vegetables or fish, staining will be minimal. As for cutting marks, these largely depend on your technique and knife. If you’re using a heavier knife with intense chopping motions (e.g., slicing through a kilo of onions), you might notice some edge marks. However, these can be easily remedied with light sanding. For those who prefer delicate slicing or a rocking motion, the board will stay in excellent condition for a long time. While the price tag is higher, the quality and functionality of this cutting board make it worth every penny. It’s a premium option that delivers a fantastic experience, and I haven’t found anything better on the market. Highly recommended for serious cooks who demand the best!

Excellent product delivered on time. But, more importantly the help from the sales team was exemplary. So far so good. I'm a Chef and a heavy user. So far, after one week of intensive abuse. The board stood up to it. No visible scratches, no bend. Good edge retention. Definitely recommend.
