Made in Japan, these high-quality diamond stones have performed brilliantly in tests. Atoma's full-size diamond grinding stones are almost the size of standard whetstones. The discs measure 75x210mm, which means they are more effective than narrow diamond stones. The diamonds are set in a precise pattern on the disc's surface using a lathe technique. This plate is, in turn, glued to a piece of aluminum about 10 mm thick. In other words, there are no stones involved.

Atoma's diamond sharpener is very well suited for flattening whetstones. The systematic shape of Atoma's diamonds makes flattening an easy process. All Atoma grits are suitable for whetstone flattening. 140 and 400 work best.
