HIOMAKIVI STROP Leather Strop Board 210x75

Now you can find a double-sided soft strop. We use 2,2 mm thick Italian brown leather on one side and natural 'suede' on the other. In between is thick birch plywood.

This leather is so-called "soft" hardness on the manufacturer's scale of 2/6 and gives an excellent response. The suede side is very tight to the touch and also works well for direct stropping.

My method is to put the board in a diagonal position, with one end lower on the table and the other end in my hand. I move the knife back and forth a few dozen times, and the blade is diamond-sharp.
