Product description

There are many styles and ways of sharpening a knife, and now I'm talking about Puukko knife with the scandi grind. Personally, I always prefer a full-size stone. The 400 stone, which in this Kensho pack is very effective, comes in handy when the knife already has clearly visible marks on the cutting edge. Finishing with 1000 stones is quite a sufficient level for a Puukko. Sure, you can expand the package with 3000-5000 stones, but already with this Pack, you can get your Puukko to a reasonable level.

NOTE!

This whetstone is a so-called semi-soaking stone. It works best after 5-10 minutes of soaking. Do not store the stone in a basin of water. After sharpening, immediately wipe the stone clean with a towel. This will give the stone a clean look and start the drying process. Place the stone to dry in a position where it does not touch a solid surface. For example, place the stone on top of a pencil. Allow the stone to dry slowly, without additional heating. Do not place the stone in direct sunlight. Do not allow the stone to freeze when wet. It takes more than 24 hours to dry. Store the stone protected from dents, for example, in its box.

By buying this product bundle, you will save 8,00 € compared to buying the products separately.

Although I do not own a Puukko (yet), this is an exceptional package for any knife sharpener. The Zan 400 is a super-fast cutting stone which gives a lot of the other contenders in the field a run for their money. Whether you use it as a second step for resetting the secondary bevel of a Japanese knife or simply to start the sharpening process, the Zan 400 excels in both fields. As to the Itadaki 1000, well, this is a superb 1k stone. Period! Excellent feedback, amazingly fast, top-notch edge. Apart from the little soak it needs to really shine - it's not a real s&g -, there is not one category where this stone doesn't deserve 5 stars. I'm extremely happy with the purchase. (About the other two items in the pack - which I bought for my daughter who's just started sharpening her own knives -, the Naniwa stone holder as well as Suehiro's flattening stone are two of the premium household articles that have been tried and tested by legions of happy users. I guess you cannot go wrong with these two: they do what they're supposed to do - and they do it very well.)
