HIOMAKIVI STROP Leather Strop Board 300x75

Now available: a double-sided strop! One side features slightly matte, 2.2 mm thick Italian brown leather, and the other side is the suede (flesh) side of the same leather. A thick birch plywood core offers countless sharpening options – the suede side works perfectly with Luxor red paste.

This leather is classified as “soft” (2/6 on the manufacturer’s scale) and offers excellent initial feedback.

My preferred method is to set the board at an angle with one end resting on the table and the other held in hand. I move the knife back and forth a few dozen times – and the edge becomes razor-sharp.
