Parker ASAHI Black M is the most popular size in Asahi's consumer line – not too big, not too small, but just right for everyday use. The same quality synthetic matte rubber surface as the other Black boards, but the M size hits that sweet spot that suits virtually every kitchen and almost every cutting task. It's no coincidence that this is the size that gets used the most.
Hiomakivi.fi owner's comment:
I got these boards in autumn 2023. If I had to choose just one size, it would be M. In both households this is the board that gets picked up automatically – at breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's enough space for the job without the board taking over the counter or the sink. Light, flexible and easy to move around. At first I worried it might warp or bend in use, but not at all – washed in the dishwasher hundreds of times without any issues. I have to say this board beats the traditional cheap white plastic board more than 6–0: the feel, durability, hygiene and appearance are just so far ahead of that old household staple. If you're buying one Asahi board, get the M.
Size: 30 cm × 20 cm × 0.8 cm
PLEASE NOTE!
ASAHI board may become deformed if placed near a flame. Do not use or store at temperatures over 90 °C or below -30 °C. Board may become warped or deformed if weighted down for extended periods at high temperatures. If this happens; Heat the board to around 80 °C, lay on a flat surface, place a heavy object on top and allow it to cool. Do not store board at an angle. Stand it up straight. Do not wash in the dishwasher. You can use bleach, but do not soak in bleach for extended periods. Use a heavy nylon brush for cleaning; for maintenance, sandpaper can be used.

It's good, it's small but convenient and feels nice. It is however, quite thin. I have this as a spare chopping board for bread and such.

Parker ASAHI Black cutting board is significant and as well an very important addition to my wife's kitchen. I just couldn't stand anymore watching her cutting fresh meat or fish (in order not to use wooden boards because of postponed odor issues) with mostly used Aogami #2 and Shirogami #1 blades (both represent wide Japanese Ajikiri/Petty form) on cheap plastic cutting board that was bought here in Germany! Now she is using "pocket" Parker ASAHI cutting boards for all her vegetables preparations (as well) while getting different cutting feedback: safe, different or rather better than the one on top of the wood. I do agree completely: "This board surpasses the traditional few-euro white plastic board by miles, as its feel, durability, hygiene, and appearance are just so much ahead of the old household staple." Thank you therefore!
